Lovely look at creating books as art objects - the author has an amazing body of work, although I was definitely ready for a break from earth tones by the end. She covers a wide array of topics beyond book making and binding, from making a gelatin sheet to print from (look online for a recipe that is shelf-stable instead) to making a collapsible piercing cradle (the secret to getting your sewing holes straight through your signatures).

A beautiful book with an inspiring overview of artists books. Probably not for an absolute beginner to bookmaking. I really liked it and reccomend.

A beautiful book and although is sup-title is Handcrafting Artists' Books is more of a showcase for the author's work than an instruction book.

I have started binding my own books and this book, while not well written, provides some interesting ideas and techniques for creative approaches to this task.
