Stunt Double is a brand new Young Adult series from Tamsin Cooke, and I was so intrigued to read it as soon as I heard about it - film sets! Stunt doubles! Hi-jinks! I WAS IN. And this was actually a pretty amazing read, and I’m even more excited that Finn’s  back with more adventures in January 2018 (why so far away, though?! *Weeps*). It could probably be read by 12+, because there’s not a lot of swearing or mature content, although there’s a bit of violence, to put it mildlyE GOODSTU [...]

Finn finally has a speaking role in a major film, but the film’s star, Blake, is determined he won’t keep it. Fuming that he’s lost his part and thinking that no one is watching him, Finn does what he loves best; he goes free running over the set. When the eccentric director spots him, she’s found what she’s been looking for since filming began – the perfect Stunt Double. As Finn, the cast and film crew jet off to Papua New Guinea, what should have been an amazing job rapidly descends [...]

'Sometimes real life can be more exciting than the movies' and Finn is about to discover this himself. After finally getting a speaking role in the same teen action movie as his former friend and now arch-nemesis Blake, Finn is horrified when he loses the part to a girl. He doesn't have to brood for long though as Agatha Novak, the famed but rather eccentric director, catches him somewhere he shouldn't be. Fast forward a couple of days, Finn is now Blake's stunt double and they're heading out to [...]

This was a great start to this new series: fast, fun, glamorous and gripping. Our hero Finn is fairly normal, in that he’s not super brainy or particularly popular, but he is athletic and a real daredevil. Admittedly, some of the stunts he does because he wants to keep his job, but he’s brave and daring when he needs to be.There’s a good mix of other characters too, from the hugely famous Blake Saunders – Finn’s worst enemy – to Anna and Mawi, the two teen girls who are far more than [...]

I’m a huge fan of Tamsin’s first series ‘Cat Burglar’ and‘Mission Gone Wild’ so I was intrigued to find out if ‘Stunt Double’ lived up to my high expectations and I can confirm that it has in fact surpassed them. When Finn is recruited as a stunt double he’s so desperate for fame that he doesn’t notice the warning signs that things are not exactly as they should be on the set of the film. Why would the notoriously eccentric director Novak hires a young boy as a stunt doub [...]
