I couldn't even make it through the sample. Pilot works as a bartender. I was leery when there was an info dump about his emotional immaturity in the first two pages, but I kept going. It got worse. Pilot is flirting with some guy he's serving at the bar Location 148: "I already knew his name from his credit card" Location 174 (the very next page): "He pulled out his wallet and set his credit card on top of the receipt I'd set down." So the kid is paying for every single drink individually with [...]

Usually I'm not one for such short books but this one caught my interest so I thought I'd give it a go.I liked it. It didn't wow me. I've read other's like it before. I honestly didn't think it would bring something new to the table but there is always a little hope a book will surprise you. But no.Pilot and Cabe have been friends for a long time and were even kind of raised together after Pilot was kicked out of his home for being gay and ended up living with Cabe and his parents. They now are [...]

Solid OFY story that actually uses the word "bisexual" several times. Kudos. I really liked the characterization of Cabe and found him so delicious. I was annoyed by reading the same descriptions several times over, but overall, I liked it.

I'll tell you what, this is one of those books that actually caught my attention because the colour and the glasses were unique and the cover was really intriguing. I wasn't honestly expecting this book to be as good as it was. Good things: I'm not into the GFY (Gay for you) theme, I don't understand it much and I don't care for it. It feels like a cop-out take on bisexuality in theory. But this story was written with so much maturity. I think with age, I've slowly lost patience for immature idi [...]

Pros:- Quick, easy read which was perfect for a midnight reading session- Bisexual character for the win!- Friends to lovers is a trope favourite of mineCons:- Lack of depth- If I hadn’t started this at 11:30 it would have been over way too quickly- Both characters were a little childish- The ‘angst’ felt forced and at times unnecessaryOverall:- Two stars- Enjoyable read but ultimately forgettable

After all, Cade's family took Pilot in at seventeen. The men were the best of friends, hell, they even lived together still. Cade was used to Pilot's sexual antidotes and moved on. 3.75 starsThis was a very quick read. I love the tension between friends who eventually become lovers. I don't think that tension was captured quite so much but I still enjoyed what there was of it. One part I was not happy about was how Pilot reacted to some news Cabe has to tell him. I mean, grow up! Couples discuss things and that's what Cabe was trying to do. The story ended flat for me and I wanted to see Cabe bottoming for the first time. I would have loved to know how he felt and how much [...]

I wasn't really sure how to rate this. I did like it but it was nothing that I haven't read before and the characters were a little underdeveloped. Cane annoyed me at times and Pilot just used sex with a bunch of random guys as a distraction. Just sort of meh.

    • Jaime says:

When I first started reading this I was confused about why it had such a low rating. It pulled me in from the beginning and I was really liking the direction it was heading. It would have been a solid 3 star for me (3 means I liked it, but wouldn't read it again), but I knocked off a star for a few reasons. My issue with this book was that it lacked character development. In fact, there was hardly any character development at all. We had practically zero background story told on any of the charac [...]

** 2.5 stars ** Another story that started out promising, only to crash and burn.I was lured in by Pilot -- strong, confident and charming -- and the realistic banter between him and long-time friend Cabe. But somewhere along the line the characterization went to hell. Pilot turned into a whiny crybaby drama queen. The quality of the writing deteriorated ("I could see a nerve pulsing quickly at the base of his throat." Wow, really? That's quite a superpower you've got there.) Even the editing go [...]

A short, easy, quick read. On the plus side, I like friends to lovers and GFY stories. Also, I got it for free at the 2017 Big Gay Fiction Giveaway. On the con side, while it's enjoyable when you're reading it, it's quickly forgettable afterwards. The short length doesn't allow for much characterization, and the plot is not very original. If you can get it for free, it's a nice pastime, just don't expect anything memorable. If not, keep your money for something else.

    • Milly Molly says:

This had A GFY STORY on the front of the book in capital letters which had me worried the whole story would be someone denying their sexuality and that bisexuals don't exist. However it was more Cabe getting the bravery together to come out which is a huge thing to do.It was a nice easy read, I enjoyed following the guys along the journey to their HEA and the road blocks the guys had to work through on the way there were feasible.

Loved these guys.Really liked this story. Pilot and Cabe have been best friends for most of their lives. They are in their early twenties now. Pilot has had a long history of quick pickups. But that's about to change. Don't want to spoil the fun. Very hot stuff. Enjoyed this one.

Sweet, hot, romantic and so good!Flirt isn’t a long story (about 118 pages) but it sure packs a punch. I thought it was a very romantic, friends-to-lovers kind of story. Pilot’s father beat him up and threw him out when he told him he was gay. His best friend’s (Cabe) family took him in. After high school Pilot and Cabe bought a house together but now Cabe’s girlfriend is pressuring him to move in with her and Pilot is afraid that he will lose his best friend.Cabe’s relationship with h [...]

4 / 5 StarsPilot and Cabe have been best friends since they were kids, strengthening their bond after Pilot was kicked out when his father discovered he's gay. Cabe, uptight and responsable, likes his world in order but his recent feelings for Pilot are nothing but a chaotic mess. Although Pilot, with his flirting behaviour, has tried to hide his love for his best friend, he's fighting a losing battle.Pilot was complicated, lost at times and carried so much sadness that I wanted to hug him so da [...]

This was a perfect for a hot day on the beach. Short, sweet and sexy. Pilot and Cabe are BFFs. Cabe is the relationship-oriented straight guy while Pilot is into one night stands and men. They fall for each other pretty quickly, but there is little to no pining befire that, so this is the kind friends-to-lovers I like. The story moves along with a good pace, and though Cabe has his doubts, any big gay freak outs are avoided. Two things would have made this better for me. If Pilot didn't have a b [...]

Cabe and Pilot (great name!) have been best friends for years. Cabe has a long-time girlfriend whereas Pilot is just looking for casual hookups. The two have never thought about each other that way until recently. I liked how it wasn't about whether or not they were going to admit their feelings for each other. It was about when and how they were going to! I couldn't wait for these two to get together as you could cut the tension with a knife. Once the two realize what's important and what they [...]

Great friendship that becomes moreThis is a really sweet friends-to-lovers romance. The scenes where Cade & Pilot get to tease and show their friendship were well done (I would have liked to see more). The angst the both have at changing their relationship was well-played out as well. While there is sex--it also has an innocence as these two young men who have really loved each other for a long time as friends want to protect each other & the friendship that they both value. The stakes f [...]

This book was so entertaining. Pilot has trust issues and isn't looking for love. Cabe had been dating the same girl since high school. Neither is looking for love, but that doesn't mean they don't find it. I really enjoyed both Pilot and Cabe. They were both scared, but when they jump in, they're both all in. It was enough turmoil to feel their pain and confusion without being angsty. I loved reading this book, I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for more from this author. I received an ARC fo [...]

Received an ARC for an honest review.I could not be more happy with this book.Loved the writing style. Was easy to follow and so well written.I enjoyed the story, the characters and their path to happiness.I believe the story, although short, gave the reader so much insight into their history and their feelings. How their relationship transpired and the heat they produced. I really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone.

Loved this book. Pilot and Cabe are best friends. Pilot is quite the flirt and not looking for a relationship. Cabe has been seeing the same girl since high school and is questioning his sexual identity. This is a great friends to lovers book. Pilot and Cabe just fit together so well, each knowing and accepting the other. Loved this storyn't wait to read more from this author.I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"Flirt" is a short cute fun story. Pilot and Cable are two best friends who live together and start having feeling for each other. How Pilot and Cabe react when they start having these feelings is so realistic it reminds me of a real couple I know. I enjoyed this book thoroughly and highly recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

When will I learn? I should always, always read the free sample first, before purchasing anything. Both MCs are equally dislikeable, happily using others while they flipflop over each other. There doesn't seem to be any plausable explanation for their previous or current behaviour. Self awareness of your daddy issues does not excuse douchey or manipulative behaviour.

    • Linda says:

Great story This was a great story of two men coming to the realization that the love they had for each other as friends had bloomed into a deeper love of life partners. The uncertainty of their true feelings, especially Cabe's, felt real. That all the pieces of their puzzle finally fit together was heartwarming.A very satisfying quick read.

4.5 StarsI really enjoyed this story, I feel for Cabe who was so mixed up, it must of been hard for him to hear Pilot all the time, but it all worked out in the end, nice quick read.
