Oh the internal dialogues, never-ending internal dialogues. Alma the heroine, was quite the spoiled brat who seriously got on my nerves. She got a little better once she realized that Dillon "cleaned up real nice". SNOB, I was yelling at her in my head. Judging people by their looks, not attractive at all. She was easily offended and just felt a tad too "entitled"for my taste. Everything has to be JUST RIGHT for Miss Alma. I never could tolerate a brat. So I had a really hard time liking Alma. D [...]

Dillon and Alma were as far apart, socially, as two people could be. An unlikely couple for sure. He gave his word to protect her and take her on the long journey west to the man she was promised to marry. The trip was never boring. From the start they didn't see eye to eye. The strong stubborn ways of both made for an interesting story not to mention all the surprises and events that happened during their travels. Their arguments, head strong ways and ever changing emotions kept you turning the [...]

I thought the majority of this book was great. Tough army scout Dillon Reed is commanded to escort the Colonel's niece, Alma Talmadge, all the way from genteel society in Boston to the Arizona territory out West. Why? So she can meet up with her British fiancé the Earl of Locknor. Alma was not bred to traipse across the country and that's all Dillon knows. Also, there are some dangerous dudes following Alma and the Colonel sends a note that Alma may be in danger. Most of the book was opposites [...]

In the third installment to her Cutteridge Family series, Cindy Nord has penned another exciting western story full of romance and adventure. Gruff scout Dillon Reed is asked by a friend to escort pampered and spoiled debutante Alma Talmadge to meet her fiancé in out West. Oh, and there are killers on their trail. Needless to say, nothing goes as planned, and heavens, having to rough it might be involved. The evolution of these two characters as they fight to survive their journey is finely dra [...]

I'm not a "western historical romance" reader. However, after reading the first book in this series, "No Greater Glory" (which is a Civil War romance), I had to pick up the entire series. I am SO glad I did! And, as much as I loved "No Greater Glory" (and I LOVED that book), I think this book is my favorite one of the series. Cindy Nord took me on so many different adventures during the cross-country trip these two characters embarked on, all with a serial killer nipping at their unsuspecting he [...]

I loved so many things about this book. Once again, Cindy Nord has combined beautiful imagery, historical detail, and a compelling relationship into a cohesive story. At the beginning it was difficult to see how two people so different could come together. It was a slow, realistic process. Their eventual connection was strong and poignant. BUT this book, unfortunately, hit on one of my sore spots in terms of villains -- the crazy bad ones. In this case, a serial killer. I felt that it was simply [...]

Alma is traveling west to get married. What she doesn't expect is to fall in love with her guide. Dillon, an Indian scout, is under orders from his commander to escort Alma from Boston to Arizona. They face multiple hardships together ranging from shootings to kidnappings. This only makes their chemistry more undeniable even though they're as different as whiskey and ice cream! Cindy Nord is another new author to me. Having been suggested to me because of my love for the old West, I decided to p [...]

I love stories where the hero and heroine have been raised in completely different social settings - I especially like it if the hero is the one coming from a lower rung on the social ladder. This story doesn't disappoint when Hunky military scout Dillon is assigned to escort sophisticated and pampered Alma on her long journey west to meet up with her intended. You know that arrangement is going to hell in a hand basket with Dillon on the scene. Lots of twists and turns and surprises along the w [...]

Exciting addition!Boston Society meets Wild West Scout in this charming tale. What starts as a simple assignment to escort the pampered beauty to the Arizona Territory, turns into a trek of survival. The bond that grows between the mismatched lovers deepens. When they think they have reached safety, they face their biggest test.

Another epic story in The Cutteridge Family saga. I've enjoyed this series by Cindy Nord and look forward to many more of her books. This book will take you on an amazing and exciting adventure across the untamed southwest. Cindy Nord doesn't disappoint with her cast of characters and hero Dillon Reed. I hope you will read this book and enjoy it as much as I have.

This is another beautiful, but unlikely, love story between Army Scout, Dillon Reed and Debutante, Alma Talmadge. It has become easy to read Ms. Nord's stories, as she writes with such clarity and heart felt storytelling. Not only does Ms. Nord put her all in her books, she does her research on the time period. The title of this story is very fitting to the story line. Read the book and follow the hero and heroine on their journey west. Dillon is hired by Alma's uncle to protect and secure her pa [...]

great book!! 5 stars. Dillon is an Army Scout sent to escort Alma to Tucson Arazona. Alma a lady from Boston and engaged to an Earl. Their journey is full of danger. Some one wants Alma dead but Dillon will die him self before he lets that happen. This book held my interest from start to finish. It's a must read!!

I absolutely loved this western historical romance. I received this from the author in return for a honest review. I've given it a 5* rating. This had a little bit of a lot of things. It had romance, adventure, suspense, historical info, and a true hero and heroine. I found myself cheering them on often and really enjoyed the ending. This does contain some sexual content and is not suitable for under 18.
