      Whelp, I really liked my friend Andrew Knighton's story "Feathers". And although "So You're Stuck in a Time Loop" by Brandon Sanderson won't be my favorite, it was written with his usual skill. But none of the other stories in this collection brought me much delight. *shrug* So it goes.

      Of all the stories, I especially liked 'White Bone', an interesting and sensitive take on the Chinese myth of white bone spirit. I almost cried when I read it. It really shows what women would sacrifice for love, but it also shows how impossible it is to give up so much of yourself, to love so unconditionally, because such sacrifice returns with a vengeance to bite you in the back. The king's repression of the past is heartbreaking too, as well as its effects on the woman he loves. Her fantasy w [...]
