Carter is a very good writer, but I do have a couple of suggestions. First: The weather on the Oregon coast has SOME sunshine, right? And second: Get that damn knee replaced or quit complaining about it.

Lots of twistsI like the character Garrison Gage, but sometimes he makes the same mistakes over and over again. I haven't guessed the ending of the first three books, which for me is unusual. I bought the 5 book bundle, but I'm taking a break before I finish the last two. I would recommend reading the books.

Gage is one of the best characters I've come across in my search for a new hero. Flaws and all, love the guy!Perfect book for mystery lovers. Highly recommended. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

It just gets better and better!!This was by far my favorite book so far in the Garrison Gage series!! It has all the usual hallmarks of Scott William Carter's writinga complex but well developed, believable storyline that always surprises you in the end, realistic, deftly created characters that each have a unique and recognizable voice, and descriptions that paint a clear picture in the reader's mind from the very beginning until the end. His stories in this series always have an emotional comp [...]

Carter has once again put his talents and skill to excellent use.A roller coaster of a book that had me spellbound into the wee hours of the morning Just make sure you don't read it on a work night like I did ! WOW ! I have since read the book again and enjoyed it just as much the second time. I now "follow" Carter and I am not some stalker ! Just an apprec [...]

Set in an idyllic village along the rugged Oregon coast, "The Lovely Wicked Rain" tells the story of a young freshman college student who is brutally murdered in his dorm room and a fellow classmate is accused of the crime. In steps Garrison Gage, a local eccentric who has FBI experience and instincts for solving difficult murder cases. Full of local color and misdirected accusations, the story twists and turns towards a final surprise ending. Worth reading.

Another great book in the seriesI love this series. Garrison Gave is a real human, flawed & dealing with demons from his past. He also is a great detective. I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing his character developed a little more with each mystery & am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Great charactersI love the Garrison Cage series, because the characters are so engaging, and the descriptions and presence of the Oregon coast is just terrific. I think the story developments are sometimes a bit unrealistic, as are Cage's sudden insights, so I gave it four instead of five stars. However, I loved getting swept away into Garrison Cage's life and world.

GageI'm worried about myself. Keep wondering why Gage doesn't get a knee replacement, or even amputation! Oh, he's not real?
