Christmas at Pebble Creek is such a sweet update on the life of Grace. She is now a grown woman, instead of the sweet little girl growing up in the Pebble Creek series. I really enjoyed this quick read that provided a window into her adult life and a little glimpse at the lives of her parents and siblings. A Touching Read! How thrilled I was to read about one of my favorite characters, Grace Miller, from the Pebble Creek Amish Series. Little Grace is all grown up and working as a teaching assistant. I was happy to read she still has her passion for drawing. Imagine my surprise to find out that she is seriously dating Adam Lapp. Is romance in the air?As the story continues an English stranger by the name of Audrey comes into Grace’s life quite by accident. Little does Grace know that this stranger [...]

This review is featured on my blog: Writerly Bookish Stuff.I have not read the Pebble Creek series, so I went into this ebook with fresh eyes. This is a very short read, and as I am unfamiliar with the Amish lifestyle, I did enjoy reading the certain language differences and cultural differences, even if some of those cultural difference are not what I agree with. A little more backstory would help readers who are new to Grace's story. It was a pleasant read. There was nothing that overly stood o [...]

This was a very short story, almost like it could have been an added series of scenes in one of the full length novels in the series, but it was quite good. I liked how the author skirted the three full length books in the series, not really going into much detail about them. If I hadn't done my research into this series, I could have seen this as a standalone introduction to the series. I think it fits in quite well if you read the full length novels first then this book, but I read it right af [...]

This short ebook is just that--a complete teaser. It leaves you wanting to know more about the characters in Pebble Creek. If you have read Vannetta's Pebble Creek series, it was nice to revisit the former characters and be reminded of where you first read about them. Just wish it was a complete stand alone book to continue--finished too quickly. Loved the Pebble Creek series! I would have to say that Grace Miller is my favorite as she was in the first book about Miriam. Still love that book and [...]

My favorite character from Vannetta Chapman's Pebble Creek Amish series is sassy Grace Miller. She is all grown up with a wonderful story to tell. I love how Vannetta intertwines Englischer lives with the Amish showing that our basic needs are the same. A faith in God who blesses our lives richly and foresees our needs before we are aware of them and He provides according to that need. Vannetta writes fiction full of grace and this short story continues that tradition. A must-read anytime of the [...]

"Christmas at Pebble Creek" was my introduction to the Pebble Creek Amish Series by Vannetta Chapman. I enjoyed the story so much that I'm sure it won't be my last story in the series. It was Christmas Eve in the Amish community of Pebble Creek, and when teaching assistant Grace Miller left school that day, little did she know that her life was about to change dramatically. She and her beau Adam Lapp joined another couple for an afternoon of snowshoeing. Afterwards, the two encountered a strande [...]

A very short but wonderful story of Grace Miller before she wed Adam Lapp. She was working as a teacher's assistant and loving it. The teacher, Sylvia Bena was the teacher and Grace's mentor. Grace learned a lot from her and enjoyed their working together. Unfortunately Sylvia became ill and was eventually replaced by Maudi Bricker, another good teacher but not the same as Sylvia for Grace. One night Grace and Adam were riding to her house when they stopped to help a stranded motorist, Audrey. It [...]

A lovely little Christmas novella. When Grace Miller leaves school for the Christmas holidays she is looking forward to spending time with her family, doing some drawings and indulging her love of art and spending time with her sweetheart Adam Lapp. But on the way home she meets a broken down car with a lady called Audrey inside.Unbeknownst to Grace the lady has always wanted to meet Grace and is a fan of her art and owns several of her works and was hoping to meet her to ask her to do some illust [...]

Christmas at Pebble Creek is a short story. I rarely download short stories since I truly enjoy rich character development. A short story truly limits the author in providing any.BUT this story is a true treasure. I think I will re-read every Christmas. And it has some GREAT recipes at the end of the story (about 10% of the Kindle edition is those recipes). No -- I'm not going to tell you anything about the story other than her name is Grace Miller. This story, according to my Kindle Fire, takes [...]

What a delightful Christmas story ! Little Grace, the artist, has grown up and fallen in love! I love Pebble Creek so much that I investigated to find out if it truly exists. It does not but it would be a terrific place to go camping. What fun to read of Grace and Adam and their friends trying to walk in the snowshoes! I would likely fall and get hurt as that seems to be my problem lately. This is a quick and sweet Christmas story for readers to enjoy. The recipes for chicken and dumplings, gree [...]

"Christmas at Pebble Creek is only a few pages?" you ask. Although the answer is yes, don't let that stop you from reading it, because you'll definitely be missing out. Christmas at Pebble Creek tells the story of one of the most endearing characters of Vannetta Chapman's Pebble Creek series. Grace. And those few pages tell Grace's story beautifully. This is a continuation of The Pebble Creek Series. Here we see Grace all grown up. We see her future unfold with happiness and sadness, just as the events of our own lives. The little novella was a feel good ending and you wanted it to continue and leaves you wanting to read more. I picked this up free and was really glad I did!

This is a story set at Christmas time and shows friends having fun in the snow, celebrating the holidays, and reminding us that family is important. Grace has a chance encounter with a stranger and that leads to decisions about her future, as she contemplates what to do with her life. Great Christmas story which won't take long to read!

Christmas TimeI love Amish Stories. Oddly enough, I am from Ohio. At that time, I knew nothing about the Amish--let alone that Amish lived a little ways from us. Perhaps this is why I have a fascination for the Amish. My only complaint is that this story is way too short for me.

    • Debra Torgerson says:

The ending is always one of grace. This is a lovely short story of how God can show us a new direction before we know we will be taking it. Wonderful Christmas Story taking place in a Amish community. Recipes included at the end of the book. Take 30 minutes a cup of tea and enjoy a bit of Christmas.
