AMAZING! Wow, I highly recommend this one, especially to fans of NA romances or anyone who just wants to read an emotionally deep and romantic story of first love (not the insta-luv formula). BrentThis was such an emotionally charged story told over a three year period. Brent and MacKenna first meet at a dude ranch in Montana and form an odd but solid friendship. At just under 18 years old, MacKenna is too young for Brent. He is 5 years older, and dismisses her schoolgirl crush. But the friendsh [...]

Big Sky Eyes gives the story of two young adults, Brent and MacKenna, who meet while working a summer job at a friend's Montana ranch. While they both feel the attraction, Brent has circumstances in his life keeping him from believing there could ever be more. The book spans several years capturing the essence of a slow building relationship. As Brent continues to fight his feelings, MacKenna's heartache and frustration are clearly felt. As much as I adored him, there were times I wanted to give [...]

4.5A sweet beautiful love story that begins as friendship. A lot of the story the star crossed lovers are a part because Brent fights his attraction to McKenna Stupid, stupid man. I actually cried three times during the book as my heart just broke for McKenna and Brent. This is a rarity for me anymore. If you are looking for your heart strings to be yanked hard with minimal sex scenes, though not clean, I would definitely recommend this debut novel from Sawyer Belle.

4 1/2 starsI began reading Big Sky Eyes at 10:00 p.m. on a Sunday night. Big mistake! About 30 minutes before I had initially planned on going to bed I began one of those stories that you're lucky if you meet with once or twice a year! One of those books that you have a hard time putting down (no matter what time it is, or what you SHOULD be doing) because you've stepped into a special world and you just can't stop yourself from reading "just one more chapter". That's exactly what Big Sky Eyes w [...]

I love finding new indie authors who just blow my expectations away. Thanks to my GR friend Karlyn for recommending this one to me!This book spans several years and is about the romance between Brent and MacKenna. They meet and become friends when she goes to work on a dude ranch, and their relationship slowly develops from friendship to love over the course of around three years. Of course, it doesn't go smoothly they both become involved with other people, have plenty of misunderstandings, and [...]

I would recommend this book for readers who enjoy heavy prose / inner dialog, a lot of angst and if you don't mind long periods of separation between H/h. If you do, this book would likely be a 4 or 5 stars for you. But these are the reasons it was only 3 stars for me.The character development in the book is really good and I LOVE the friendship that develops between Mackenna and Brent over the summer working at a ranch. Despite their age difference (17 yrs / 24 years) these two connect and Mack [...]

Absolutely loved it!!! There are some things I have trouble imagining because I live in a place where it never snows and where I never ge to see much open space. I definitely dont see horses very often, and the country is something I see on movies. But man, I could picture every tree, every horse, every flake of snow because of Sawyer's amazing writing. When I read the author's note my heart began to ache. There is simply so much honesty in her words, I couldnt help having enormous expectations [...]

*3.5 Stars*This was a sweet read. The characters were very likeable and I enjoyed this story for the most part. Wonderfully emotive writing. With a bit more point of view control and less head-hopping during scenes, this could be even stronger. A great debut novel and I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

Good read. Didn't skim pages like I do a lot of books. But there were definitely parts to the story that I didn't like but still didn't keep me from finishing.

OkayIt was a good read but I've never been a fan of unrequited love. There were a few things that annoyed me in the story too.
