      Interesting historical crime thriller set in the early 1900's, though Denton moves from London to Naples. Denton is there to research a book on the paranormal in the city and also to take his lover Janet for a holiday after her brush with death.Do find the relationship a puzzle, he loves her, sh seems to tolerate him. For a strong character he seems to be a bit soft, feel like giving him a slap and tell him to dump the woman, preferably in the bay.The mystery is a puzzle, a fake priest who seems [...]

      Another Denton mystery. The setting in Naples is fascinating and full of details with an authentic feel. The scenario is original but gruesome. I am finding Janet quite tedious - on again, off again. Most irritating.Kenneth Cameron has a talent for distinctive dialogue for different characters and for settings and atmosphere.Nearly a 4, but the gruesomeness and Ms Striker reduced my score.
