Well, the smoke has cleared from the crazy ending in the last book and now the Pentonites are trying to figure out how to exist in the Omega. Things are moving along fine till Matthias decides to get a little aggressive. I really enjoy both Randa and Will but I feel that they got cheated! Too much is happening with the ongoing story and it doesn't really allow them much time for their romance. Their time in the tunnel was great but it seemed more of a 'why not' instead of a 'yes, please!' Randa [...]

Book 3 of the Penton Legacy and it featured Will is the only living child of the antagonist Mathias Ludlam, and Matthias was still bent of bring both Will and Aiden to heel.In this book, we got a glimpse into Will's childhood with Matthias. We learned that he was such a wise-ass to hide a life of pain and insecurities. While it was the thing that made him clash with his partner Randa Thomas, a former military officer, who came to Penton after being turned. Randa had only been a vampire for five [...]

I thought this was the final book in the trilogy but come to find out there's a fourth book and apparently there will be shape shifters as well as Omega Force. Hmmm things are changing up in Penton, Alabama. I loved Cage in this one and look forward to his story (eagle shifter and all).I've loved Will since the beginning and was happy to get to his story. I knew during book two that Randa would be his soulmate and I liked how it played out. I was amazed at the things his father subjected him to [...]

This is the 3rd book of the Penton Legacy series and I’m loving it.In the last book, Absolution, one of the beloved characters was killed. It was surprising because Melissa was such a big part of the series. She was sweet and was the unofficial welcome wagon for new residents of Penton and she never failed to lend a hand when needed. Matthias, who is Penton’s biggest enemy, had one of his minions break her neck right in front of everyone. In this book, we learn that she is alive and that Mat [...]

Great 3rd bookI loved Will but, good grief, what a life he had when he was “turned.” His father, Matthias, and Shelton were two sick bastards; Shelton for what he did to Will and Mathias for allowing it. I have no idea how Will stayed sane and somewhat normal. Well, normal that is, until he caught Shelton alone in the woods. Ahh, good times for Shelton! I did forget about Melissa being in the last book and being in this book and that she was being held prisoner by Matthias and that Cage save [...]

I have about 25 things running through my head right now as I finish this book… YES!! NOOO! OMG! Sweet Baby Jesus! Holy Crap! GET ‘EM! I really want him dead! WOW!! That’s just awesome! And HOT DAMN!! Ok so now that I’ve gotten that out, let me say this, I really didn’t think Ms Susannah could top my Book Boyfriend, Mirren’s, book Absolution, but to all things holy, I think Will’s story and the continuation has blown all expectations out the window, through the sky, and into the un [...]

Originally published at Reading RealityI think I would call Omega the final volume of the first trilogy of the Penton Legacy. I say this having read that there will be more stories in this world, but Omega certainly lives up to its name; it feels like closure of the first arc. There are two stories going on, one is the love story, and the other is the war between Aiden Murphy’s followers and the Vampire Tribunal, or at least Matthias Ludlam’s faction. The love story seemed to take a back seat [...]

See this review and others like it at BadassBookReviews!Omega was a huge turning point for this series! Susannah Sandlin wasn’t afraid to tear everything she has built down and remake it into something new. The change of scenery made this entry feel very fresh and the lead characters were a lot of fun. Will’s father is Matthias, enemy of the Penton scathe. He has worked his whole life to get away and not let his father change him. Penton is where Will belongs but he is not above sacrificing h [...]

A supremely imaginative paranormal romance that will delight fans of Keri Arthur and Charlaine Harris. Fresh, current and contemporary this thoroughly modern narrative is one that slots into its genre beautifully, as something refreshingly new and exciting! Omega is the third installment within a steamy paranormal series called ‘Penton Legacy’ with Redemption (book one) and Absolution (book 2). Omega continues the story as foretold within the previous books with Adrian and Matthias in heated [...]

Mon avis en FrançaisMy English reviewAfter the end of Absolution, we can only have one wish: Read Omega. Indeed, the events of the second volume ends in a fairly explosive way and I was curious about the followings events. So we start directly after the end of the second novel and our whole town took refuge in Omega, but it’s only the start of troubles and Matthias has not abandoned his desire to destroy all the inhabitants of Penton and especially to recover his son. Will and Randa patrol aro [...]

4.75 Stars!!!I loved it. Book three wraps up a wonderful story which started in book one. While books one and two centered around the two master vampires in the town of Pentonok three was all Will, son of Mathias (arch enemy and really bad dad)and smart-ass, golden playboy Master in the making. What this series has going for it is not so much the romance and sex scenes but the entire storyline and plot. It is intricate and has so many players that you are so enthralled with what is going on you s [...]

I’ve been a very lucky reader this year and have found many original paranormal reads, Omega is definitely one of them. It’s exciting, sensual, touching, and fun all rolled into one great read any fan of the genre will enjoy.Randa is one kick butt heroine. She’s a tough chick that has an amazing heart and outer beauty to match. She’s a fairly new vampire (5 years to be exact) and cannot bring herself to accept her new life and what it entails. She closes herself off a bit from others and [...]

Overall, I'm really enjoying the series. I might even fudge up to 4½♥s on this (though if I do, book #2 definitely needs to be at least 4½♥s.) The world is interesting, the mythology and 'urban' influence on the vampires keeps everything inventive and fun, and the characters are oodles of joy. This book has the whole banter thing down pat but I will say it seemed a hair forced on the romance. I swear, at once point it's like this switch got flicked that turned animosity into some sort of s [...]

Omega occurs as the Tribunal has decided to disband the community of Penton. With lives and freedom on the line, everyone is tense and on the edge. Will is spotlighted in this series and his sharp wit and teasing nature are on vivid display. This story progresses and the action builds with a tension that is palpable, demanding that you read on. As this series has progressed, more of the background information for all of the characters and the hesitancy about the Tribunal becomes clearer, and urg [...]

I liked this book just as much as the first two, but I'm a little worried where this series is headed. There is now a human/vampire military alliance, which might be ok. But I snuck a peek at the next book and it looks like there is going to be an introduction of a shifter into this world. I don't have a problem with a vampire/shifter story. It's just that that storyline seems totally out of character in the world created in this series. I will probably put this series on hold for right now. Don [...]

I absolutely love this series!! And finally, we have Will. The sarcastic, playful vamp who hides deep secrets. And Randa was perfect for him. Still more UF with some romance. But again, I definitely recommend this series. Each book is as good, if not better, than the last. I'll be sad to see the series end with the next book.

This Review was first published on my blog Lecture toute une Aventure I’ve waited so long for this book that I was anxious to start it in good condition. The last book of a series is always special… we want to have a conclusion and in the same time we don’t want to leave characters we have come to enjoy a lot. It can either make of a good series a wonder, either crash all the authors’ efforts put in it. Omega is keeping his promises really well and gives us a wonderful insight on Will’ [...]

Third Installment Lost Some SteamWhile reading this piece, I found it was almost repetitive of the first two books. While it was still enjoyable enough, I didn't find the passion in Will the same. Nevertheless, I did like that Will's backstory was heartbreaking in a different way.

    • Melanie says:

Getting to read more of Will Ludlam's story was wonderful. As the renegade son of the Tribunal’s vicious leader it makes him a very interesting and important part of the series. I fell in love with Aidan and Krys, then Mirren and Glory's but I think this one is my favorite so far, because of Will and Randa's romance.

The third book in the series, and I am glad to know it is not the last one. This series just keeps getting better and better, and I enjoyed this story a lot. At the end of book 2, the Penton vampires and their bonded humans were forced to flee for safety underground and they were not really ready for that just yet. Living underground is hard for humans, especially when there is not much to do for them. A lot of vampires and humans were killed when Matthias Ludlam attacked the town, and more have [...]

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I was given a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion. In the first book Redemption of the Penton Vampire Legacy we got to read about Aidan and Krys' story. Aidan is the Master Vampire of Penton. He started a community in Penton where humans and vampires live together voluntarily. The vampire's food supply was running short. There was a global pandemic where most of the humans died and humans were given a vaccine that c [...]

I just absolutely Love this series, I loved the first 2 books, Redemption, then Absolution, but really enjoyed this one. It’s just builds up and gets better with each book. This one focused more on the brilliant, and gorgeous Will, I liked him in the previous book a lot, and loved his banter with Randa, and even then thought something may come of it. Well, in this book, finally Will finds his equal, and I loved that. We also learn some more of his horrendous past with his father, and it will h [...]

Challenge: #readmyowndamnbooks and Complete a series I picked this book off of my shelf as a reading palate cleanser, as the previous book left me with a bad taste. I have been meaning to get to this book for a while. A really long while. I read the first and second book of this series almost four years ago. (I can't believe that it's been that long, but that's what says.) While normally I wouldn't recommend going 4 years between books in a series, at least not without rereading from the beginn [...]

**A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**It’s no secret that at She-Wolf Reads there’s a lot of love for Susannah Sandlin (a.k.a. Suzanne Johnson) and her Penton Legacy series. I’ve reviewed the first two books and loved them, the author has guest posted on my blog, and the latest book in the series, OMEGA, made my most anticipated reads for 2013. There’s something about this community of vampires and their layered relationships, coupled with th [...]

3.5 StarsI must say out of the three novels this one was the most intense. The story didn’t focus as much on the romance as the previous novels did, but that actually worked quite well. The plot had evolved so much by the time this one began that it required a lot of attention. Instead the romance was interspersed in small bits throughout the story in a more urban fantasy style. The pacing was well done and the action was good. I really found myself cheering for the Penton residents in the hop [...]

4.5 woot! woot! I was very excited to step back into the world Sandlin has created with the Penton Legacy series and to finally get Will's story. She has created a unique world in which vampires and humans live together in a community. When we last left them they were forced to go underground. The third book in Susannah Sandlin's Penton Legacy series, OMEGA continues the story of the vampires and humans who try to lead peaceful and cooperative lives in the face of ever-increasing danger and persecution. I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, especially ABSOLUTION. I also enjoyed OMEGA but it didn't quite meet my expectations, perhaps because they were too high after the previous instalments. Don't get me wrong -- OMEGA is still a great book and I wouldn't hesitate to reco [...]
