      It’s a shame we don’t have books like this for every period in history – detailed, perceptive, well-written accounts of daily life in times of momentous upheaval. Peter Ghiringhelli is a young boy of Italian origin living in Leeds. When Mussolini invades Abyssinia he is bullied at school, called an Eyetie.
